Manual Therapy

We utilize a hands on approach to accurately diagnose and to effectively treat your injury. Manual therapy techniques such as joint and soft tissue mobilizations are administered to address pain, inflammation and limited range of motion because of a stiff joint or tight muscle.

Movement

Movement is essential in rehabilitation and is a requirement to get you back to prior function and feeling 100%. Prescribed exercise in the clinic and at home is safe and effective in treating both acute and chronic injuries. Movement is designed to regain functional range of motion and strength following an injury. Physiotherapists have the ability to modify and/or progress movements based on symptom reproduction, abilities and goals of treatment.

Cupping

Cupping is another soft tissue technique that we use to relieve muscle pain, tension and promote healing by increasing circulation to the area being treated.

Functional Dry Needling (FDN)

Functional Dry Needling (FDN) is a specialized technique used to treat neuromuskuloskeletal pain and tightness. It requires the use of one or several fine acupuncture needles to penetrate the skin and stimulate the underlying “knots” or “myofascial trigger points” within a dysfunctional muscle. As the needle pierces through the trigger point, several involuntary twitches occur and the dysfunctional muscle is reset. Patients can expect to feel a deep, intense pressure or “tooth like ache” during treatment followed by a sensation of heaviness and fatigue, which can last up to an hour afterwards. Patients may report muscles soreness 24-36 hours afterwards. FDN is known for being an aggressive technique but one that is very effective.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of inserting needles at specific points that is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. It works to reduce pain & tension, open up flow of energy through the body, & increase blood flow. It is slightly different from dry needling in that the needles are left inserted for a longer period of time & there may be less pain on insertion. Acupuncture is great for: Chronic pain, relieving headaches, reducing muscle tension, reducing stress.

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Stretch Therapy is a hands on assisted stretching technique that helps relieve the feeling of tension in the body by targeting fascial lines that travel from head to toe. Based on your assessment with Becky, she will target your specific areas of need. Benefits include: Pain relief, improved circulation, improved performance & recovery, injury prevention, decreased tension.

Your unique path to wellness: authentically personalized care.
